A writing prompt suggested by Natalie Goldberg in her book Writing Down the Bones:
You know how it is when you’ve got used to being in one place, you take it for granted and don’t think you care about it very much, but writing this I was surprised to find how much I like living here.
One of the joys I’ve found since starting to write fiction again (not since school and that was a very, very long time ago) is in creating characters.
They usually start off roughly based on someone I have met, then just grow and grow, often in unexpected directions. Some are delightful; others I really don’t care for yet I find them all fascinating.
